Hello there,You can register kids during the summer so there must be someone at the new school that can give you info. I would assume that all schools have some degree of ESE support, maybe not an autism coach if they don't have a cluster, but I dont believe in no support at all.IEP: they can't just drop it, they need to evaluate him and find him ineligible, and have a meeting with team to discuss. You should have had one last year, you're saying he had no support at all? No IEP meeting the whole school year? If so, contact your area coordinator (check Broward schools website) or get to Rusnak. Don't wait though, there's a big chance of the meeting not happening before the beginning of next school year as staff is already off for the summer. You don't need to get another dx, have the school evaluate him. They really are in deep trouble (I'd expect) for simply dismissing his IEP for a whole year.Don't worry about blaming yourself, just get on it now as soon as possible. Contact the school tomorrow, that's the first step.Good luckSent from a's iPhone

My son is supposed to start at a new elementary

School in aug as we moved. Riverglades in parkland.

I heard good things but now I'm told they have

No ese supports in place. My son is 6 diagnosed

With Pdd. Someone suggested I get a new diagnosis, new iep, and get him

Assigned to a school with an autism coach. So now

The rush is on! He did great in mainstreamed

Kindergarten with no iep but there were some

Issues ( sensory, anxiety) that will need to be addressed

Next year as 1 rst grade is alot harder. Can anyone

Lead me in the right direction? Where do I start? I think

His old school illegally dropped his iep status

As he didn't have one last year but I never signed him

Out of program ( he had iep for place peschool program

At country hills in coral spring).

Is it possible to get this worked out over the summer??

He has been through so much change the past year so

I want the school transition to be as easy as possible

For him. I know I screwed up but my life is crazy and I

Guess I was just hoping he could move in to the new

School as if nothing was wrong. Wishfull thinking I guess.
