Guest guest
-- where are you located? I think getting a rec from someone here is first adn foremost a good bet. Was the Dx recent? was the 1st ERCP done by the same GI? I can't speak for everyone here, but I was just discussing scheduling an ERCP with my Hep. It will be done at Mass General in Boston and the procedure will be performed by a doctor who only does oscopy procedures -- my Hep will not be the one performing the ERCP. As we were discussing it, he said to estimate 4 hours from time of check-in to being through recovery. They will be doing brushings and dilation, but I suppose tht will depend upon what they find when they get in there. The doctor's behavior sounds brusque to say the least. Some doctors don't have much " bedside manner, " but I have had really good luck with my GIs and Heps. Perhaps I have been fortunate. I say if you are not happy with your care, and you feel you are not getting the answers you need, then tell the GI so. If he doesn't come around, then shop around. Guest guest
We are in Eastern Washington State. My husband was diagnosed two years ago (5/06). And this ercp was done by the same doctor as the first. I guess my biggest concern is did his doctor brush this off because he said that since things didn't look too bad he didn't want to mess with it. Has anyone else ever had a similar situation? From the time that my husband was taken back for the ercp to the time that we walked into our house, which is a 25 minute drive from the hospital, was two hours and 10 minutes. Does that seem right? I would really appreciate any advice that I could get. I am really struggling tonight. Thanks. wife to Rick- Crohns, PSC, Spondyloarthopathy > > > > My husband had his second ERCP today.
