Click here Federal Government Poised to Expand Vaccine Injury Table During its March 8, 2011 meeting, the federal Advisory Commission on Childhood Vaccines (ACCV) unanimously passed recommendations made by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) Report Task Force on Updating the Vaccine Injury Table (VIT). The VIT has not been substantially updated since 1997, despite the Centers for Disease Control's addition of nine more vaccines to the recommended childhood vaccination schedule. The ACCV's recommendations were based on the landmark report by the Institute of Medicine - Adverse Effects of Vaccines: Evidence and Causality - published in August 2011.
