Guest guest
, , or anyone that can research better than I can (probably everyone), For the last 19 months I have been suffering from chronic boils. Each new outbreak is treated with anti-biotics for at least four weeks. I am also getting cold sores simultaneously---all the boils are on my face no less. I have very little vanity left. I see a dermatologist who is very sympathetic and well aware of my liver disease but not particularly knowledgeable in how it affects my skin. I'm wondering if you can find out how serious this could be since I am now in stage 4 and nearing getting listed. Just a few more things that deal with my health: I have chronic urethritis, active IBD, UC not active, edema and ascites (treated with spironolactone 100-200 mg daily), mild HE treated with Kristalose.I still have some undiagnosed pain in my nose and nasal area that is giving me saddle nose. I really think it seems like nasal polychondritis, but I can't find anyone around here to help me and I have tried four different doctors. The last one told me not to come back and had no suggestions. what kind of doctor would diagnose polychondritis? My Hep dr died last year from a brain tumor and I'm still adjusting to my new doc. I like him but he only sees me every 4 months. I'm suppose to call between times for med adjustments, etc., but his nurse is an idiot and she's the one I have to talk to. I finally talked to him about her, he didn't seem too surprised and he said he would talk to her. It hasn't't seemed to make much of a difference yet. My last visit was almost a wash because the nurse only got two out of the three volumes of my records and they weren't listed chronologically. I noticed for my next appointment, he told the nurse to schedule me for 40 minutes. I see him in May again. If anyone has answers about the infections and dxing polychrondritis that would be great. Thanks, take care, Cheryl in ID, 49 (I was 42 when I first joined!) PSC/AIH, UC etc.
