Guest guest
Bill, Your hair test doesn't meet the counting rules, but it looks a bit skewed to the right and doesn't appear normal to me. The very elevated strontium and zinc are interesting. Andy says in HTI to increase Ca and Mg and reduce vit D intake with elevated strontium, and remove any exposure. He says it is not very toxic. The radioactive form of strontium would apparently kill you long before it looked like a problem on a hair test. Andy says unless the hair test looks completely normal, high hair zinc probably doesn't mean toxicity and you probably need to keep taking it. It may be an indication that you need more B6. The low Na/Mg also suggests taking some B6. The test fits the adrenal/thyroid sign to some degree with Ca and Mg high relative to Na and K. The K/Ca ratio is low indicating a thyroid problem. Na/Mg is low indicating you can't make enough adrenaline. Have you done other testing for adrenals and thyroid? How long have you been taking the adrenal supporting supplements? I suspect you need more than this. When you say you can tolerate 100 mg ALA, do you mean you took 100 mg every 3 hours day and night? Did you have symptoms at this dose? What dose of DMSA did you try and did you have symptoms from that? Have you used a neti pot for your sinus issues? I haven't had this problem, but I have heard from several people that it is very helpful with their sinus issues. Have you had an evaluation by a good ENT? Have you ever had followup imaging after the brain tumor issues were resolved? Did you have imaging done back then involving contrast injections? -- > > I'd appreciate feedback about my hair test results, which appear as #66 http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/healingnetwork/hairtest.html > > Dean suggested I answer the following... > > 1) Current symptoms and medical history > > Symptoms have subsided quite a bit since I stopped lifting weights, supporting my adrenals with Isocort, C, B5, licorice and numerous other supplements, watched what -- and how often -- I ate. But I still have episodes of heightened irritability, inability to handle stress, sleep difficulties (though increasing melatonin has improved this), and have been plagued by chronic -- and bloody -- sinus congestion/discharge, which I suspect is candida-related, but it doesn't respond much to stringent diet or candida supplements, so I suspect mercury/adrenal suppressed immunity or other cause I'm unaware of. > > 2) Current dental work in place and dental history > > Had mercury fillings removed about 18 months ago, also had a number of teeth extracted due to poor quality dental work over the years. > > > 3) Supplements; medications and chelating schedule at the time of hair test; > > Not taking any medications, but do take almost all recommended supplements according to Andy's book, along with a few others. > > Hadn't begun to chelate at the time of hair test, wanted to see what was going on before I began. Have only done a couple of chelation rounds thus far. I'm able to tolerate 100 mgs or more of ALA, and although I avoided DMSA due to liver problems, I've since used it with no apparent problem. I've had elevated liver enzyme counts since my brain tumor surgeries. > > > 4) Recently added supplements and medications after the hair test and date added > > Still not taking any prescribed meds, and haven't added any supplements since testing > > > 5) Other relevant information > > Had multiple brain tumor surgeries twenty years ago.
