RE: Stakeholder Meetings for DSHS Statewide Registry

Project

TO: NCTTRAC Members

DUE: 17 June 2009, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm for EMS and 1:00

pm - 5:00 pm for hospitals

ACTION: Schedule in Calendar and Print New Handouts

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) is in the process

of formally assessing the current EMS/Trauma Registry system. This

assessment, called the Trauma Registry Improvement System Assessment

(TRISA) Project, has stemmed from DSHS and stakeholder concerns over the

integrity, usefulness and viability of the current system.

All NCTTRAC/TSA-E EMS providers, trauma service providers and any others

interested in contributing their thoughts and expertise to the

development of the Texas EMS/Trauma Registry are encouraged to attend

one of the meetings.

The only scheduled meeting in the NCTTRAC/TSA-E region is:

June 17 Grapevine Convention Center

Concord I

1209 South Main Street

Grapevine, Texas 76051

DSHS has said that their TRISA contractor, MTG Management Consultants,

LLC, will facilitate discussions with EMS providers in the mornings from

8am-12pm and with hospital providers in the afternoons from 1pm-5pm.

If you are unable to attend the June 17 event in Grapevine, please check

the website for additional venues around the state between June 1 and

July 13.

Please refer to the DSHS website for handout materials as MTG will NOT

be bringing copies; see www.dshs.state.tx.us/injury

http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/injury> . At this date, there is a new

document that is to be used for reference during the stakeholder

meetings which includes information on TRAC-IT, NEMSIS, NTDB, Cardiac

and Stroke; TBI and SCI; and Submersion elements.

If you have any questions unanswered by the attached or information from

the website, please contact , the Manager of the Injury and

EMS/Trauma Registry Group at .jones@...
