Guest guest
I just started chelation using dmsa divided cap of 25mg into 12.5 and using it every 4 hrs. I just read a post about drinking it with acid juice. I dont remember that from Andy's book. Did I miss something?. I thought I could take the dmsa with food or without every 4 hrs. Do I need to do it on an empty stomach and with some type of acid juice?? Also I am only dividing the dose not refilling other capsules with the 12.5 mg of dmsa, is this okay? One more question, I am feeling nothing different at all, its only been 2 days, is that okay? I want to make sure the 12.5 is doing something. How many times should I do this before adding the ALA?? Thanks in advance for the guidance.

I just read a post about drinking it with acid > juice. I dont remember that from Andy's book. Did I miss something?. No. Mixing it with acidic juice is for kids who can't or won't swallow capsules. For kids a capsule can be divided and stored in acidic juice (for I forget how many hours, it's on Moria's web pages). > I thought I could take the dmsa with food or without every 4 hrs. Right. > Do I > need to do it on an empty stomach and with some type of acid juice?? No. > Also I am only dividing the dose not refilling other capsules with the > 12.5 mg of dmsa, is this okay? Yes as long as you keep the powder dry and contained somehow ready for the next dose. > One more question, I am feeling > nothing different at all, its only been 2 days, is that okay? Yes. That's a good thing. Watch for side effects especially after the round stops. At this low dose side effects will likely be minimal. > I want > to make sure the 12.5 is doing something. How many times should I do > this before adding the ALA?? Wait and see how you feel AFTER the round is over, and after a couple of rounds, before getting too excited, and keep us posted. Look at TKs general recommendations in the files section. J Thanks in advance for the guidance. >

Sometimes people mix DMSA in liquid ahead of time - in this case, it is important to use an acidic liquid so the DMSA does not oxidize. If you are taking the dry powder in capsules, you don't need to worry about this. > I thought I could take the dmsa with food or without every 4 hrs. That's right. I guess you mean you are taking half the amount of DMSA out of the capsule for one dose and then take the remainder for the next dose? My only question in this case would be whether you were really getting equal amounts. Once you empty some out of the capsule, the amount remaining may not be as " packed down " as before, so might be less than it looks. One more question, I am feeling > nothing different at all, its only been 2 days, is that okay? I want I would say that is good! You want to be at a dose that causes minimal to no symptoms. Give yourself some time at this dose to be sure it does not cause problems. For me symptoms tend to increase as the round continues. Also symptoms can vary across rounds, so you may have one round that is not very symptomatic and the next might have a lot of symptoms. > to make sure the 12.5 is doing something. Other than that, it is somewhat up to your judgment. If you are planning to use DMSA + ALA long-term, then I would try to get your DMSA dose up a little higher before adding ALA. --
