Guest guest
Hello everyone..... I just saw the news and am very bothered to see what occured in Tamarac. This is unacceptable and we have to do something about it. A rally? Letters to the mayor? This place has to be shut down or at least prevent a reoccurrence. As a group what are we going to do? This is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!
Guest guest
I didn't watch the video because it is just too painful. My son is 18 now. I just remember all the times I wanted to take my son somewhere he could enjoy. I remember being at a burger king play ground when my son was in 1st grade and my son would push kids out of the way. He wasn't hurting anyone. One of the fathers told his son to punch my son. It is so painful to see your kids so misunderstood. Guest guest
I can relate to what says about our kids on the playground sometimes being victims, but I want to let mom's whose kids are still little know, that it helps if you explain to people - like the uninformed father in what said - that your son is autistic and that while you try to maintain some level of discipline, sometimes your child gets so excited he forgets the rules. I also used to explain that he wasn't trying to be mean and he wasn't trying to hurt their child. Surprisingly, a lot of people would tell their kids to play with my son or help him to get on the slide or swing, etc. It is simply a matter of not knowing. Also, even though some of our kids are quite limited, we still have a responsibility to try to teach them some of the rules that society has, otherwise people will be less willing to work with us on accepting and helping our kids.
