Guest guest
-just out of curiosity, what do you guys make per hour/year. I went to the web site, and this is a small, rural hospital in north texas. The hospital is probably hemhorraging money to provide an ems service to the area. Maybe wherever the land of " here " is, wages are in line with the populous. A rural hospital (or any other service, for that matter)can't pay ivy-league wages if they are only averaging a couple of calls per day, have at least one of them be self-pay or indigent, and the other care or caid. The blessing is the third call, which is private pay insurance, that you have to keep arguing with for full payment, because they think they should pay the care/caid rate. It's the same old argument that gets re-hashed all of the time on this list, but normally includes a mandatory college education so that we can show the world that we are educated professionals and that we deserve more pay for the job which we perform. Newsflash-the government doesn't care how smart you are. They're only going to pay what they want to pay, and they're leading the way. Lowan, we've never met, but I hope that you receive many qualified applicants.
