Guest guest
Hi All went to family doc yesterday re: high glucose levels after meals -- 200-300 mgs he said that the prednisone will raise the glucose levels and that it may take a long time for them to come back down fasting levels for me are always in the normal range he took an A1C test, the results will determine whether or not he will medicate me in the meantime, i discovered that if i do not eat any carbs at dinner time, my 2 hour pp glucose is not as high today is the first day that i start weaning prednisone by 5 mgs per week going from 40 to 35 mgs at rehab, there was a man testing his glucose he is a regular diabetic one time when he had to take a steriod, his glucose went into the 500 mgs his normal is not that high so now i am experiencing another side effect from prednisone--but without the prednisone, i would be in worse shape with my O2 levels and would be SOB all the time, so it's a trade off breathing is nice Pink Joyce IPF 3/06 Pennsylvania Donate Life
