Guest guest
My best guess is that the dose of ALA is a bit high. I have heard of temper tantrum type symptoms associated with ALA. Try reducing the ALA slightly and continue with several doses of DMSA after stopping the ALA. J > > I have just finished a round (2 days ago) and still keep getting stomach pains (indigestion). I wondered which was the more likely culprit. I have chelated in the past with ala only and cannot remember this problem, but have not chelated for 6 months for various reasons before going back to it last week. I used 25mg ala & 12.5mg dmsa 3 hourly. > > Also I could feel temper tantrums only just under the surface (I am 51!) for virtually no reason. I wondered which was the more likely culprit. I have chelated in the past with ala only and cannot remember this problem, but have not chelated for 6 months for various reasons before going back to it last week. I used 25mg ala & 12.5mg dmsa 3 hourly. I had stomach problems with ALA, but I imagine DMSA could cause problems for some people. I would drop the DMSA next round and see how you do on ALA alone. Also consider dropping the dose of ALA to 12.5 mg for a few rounds. If you haven't chelated for 6 months, you may need to " re-calibrate " your body's tolerance for chelator dose. > Also I could feel temper tantrums only just under the surface (I am 51!) for virtually no reason. Is this common? It's common for me (I'm 48). Others have reported similar experiences. I suggest reducing the dose in an effort to minimize this. -- > If it is dmsa I shall just try ala for next time. > > Would appreciate any comments. > > Thanks > > Val > >
Guest guest
Are you treating gut yeast with probiotics and something antifungal? Yes, the temper issues are common. You can feel all kinds of emotions when chelating. dmsa should actually make the side effects less when using ala. But it depends what other heavy metals you are carrying. We do notice mood swings and irritability on some rounds. Other rounds we see a bit of depression or anger. We always have a bit of emotional issues after we stop a round. We counter it with lots of vitamin C. It can be hard to do only ALA chelation. As it says in Andy's book, doing this for a long time can cause copper to go up and cause mineral imbalances. Not saying you shouldn't do it, or can't, but just what his book said. You can also try a lower dmsa dose. But we did notice that treating the gut is very important when using dmsa, or we see more symptoms like this. > > I have just finished a round (2 days ago) and still keep getting stomach pains (indigestion).
