Guest guest
Dear All; The article just uploaded (Silveira MG, Lindor KD 2008 Primary sclerosing cholangitis. Can. J. Gastroenterol. 22: 689-698) was published in the August 2008 issue of Canadian Journal of Gastroenterology. It was 'free' to me so I think it is O.K. to pass it on to you guys and gals. There are several interesting points about the paper: 1. Abstract is shown in both English and French (may be helpful in communicating with our French-speaking members in the future?). 2. Nothing mentioned yet about the " adverse effects " of high-dose ursodeoxycholic acid in recent U.S. trial. 3. No mention of vancomycin as a potential therapy for pediatric PSC. 4. Has a good section on the risks of bacterial cholangitis associated with ERCP. 5. Sobering thoughts expressed on recurrent PSC and how this may become a leading cause of PSC mortality as PSC transplant recipients live longer. Best regards, Dave (father of (23); PSC 07/03; UC 08/03)
