I had posted earlier that avocados were giving me trouble. Well, it ain't so.

It's the dairy. When I increased my yogurt consumption it was all too obvious

what's been holding me back from making progress. So I'm giving up all dairy

for now.

For those in the NYC area, a farm called Butterworks makes a wonderful organic

full cream that I had been adding to milk to make yogurt. The yogurt comes out

smooth and less tart and delicious this way. I urge you to support this

wonderful Vermont farm and get their cream -- you won't be disappointed. I got

mine at the Whole Foods on Houston Street. (Also their yogurt makes a great

starter; it has all the right cultures.)

Also, I made almond biscuits with lard and they came out wonderful -- crispy and

crunchy and delicious. The lard can be had for under $3.00/pound at Ottomanelli

& Sons Meats on Bleecker Street.
