I'm not sure exactly what you can't tolerate. Often DMPS is compounded using ascorbic acid or magnesium citrate, etc. as the filler. Perhaps you can tolerate those. Mine have always had filler, so it is hard to know how much room DMPS takes up in the capsule. I personally don't like ascorbic acid as a filler since that means I have to worry about taking differing amounts of vit C on and off round. (Falls Pharmacy told me my caps had 200 mg ascorbic acid apiece.) It is generally recommended to stick with one chelation dose for awhile. At the beginning you might need to figure out a good starting dose. If you got 5 mg capsules compounded, you might find that you could take 2 per dose eventually. (This is more flexible, but might be more expensive.) However, best not to rush upping your dose. The effects of a certain level dose might not be apparent until you've used it a few times. W. TK--- the compounding pharmacy does this if i start per tk's suggestions, > as low as 5mg per dose for 3 rounds of 3 days (27 caps at 5mg), > then increase to 10 mg for 3 round (27 caps at 10mg or 54 caps at 5mg), > then 15mg for 3+ rounds (etc)... TK--- I do not suggest you move up in dosage this fast unless everything is fine > > what size caps do you have compounded? TK--- the pharmacy figures this out and how many of them to cover the > first 3 months? TK--- you will have to do some math and figure this out. It is going to depend on how you do using dmps so start with a low dose and buy extra. You can just double or triple up on the amount if you use 5mg and find you can do more so it is not really something to worry about. If you have an rx you just order more if you need them. any suggestions? wouldn't 5mg capsules would be very tiny TK--- yup > (with no fillers--i can't tolerate any fillers)? TK--- they will want to put a filler in like vit c to help keep the dmps stable, from oxidizing and to fill the capsule. Most have many things as fillers you can pick from if you ask. > > gratefully, > kendra >
