Made goat's milk yogurt for the first time based on the only SCD-compliant

recipe I could find on the Internet:

http://milkforthemorningcake.blogspot.com/2009/06/goats-milk-yogurt-scd.html

I followed the directions explicitly, with three exceptions. I made 2 liters,

have an electric stove, and allowed it to heat for over 2 1/2 hours. Recipe

author used gas stove on lowest flame, recommended 1 liter, and 1 1/2 - 2 hours

cooking time. I heated mine longer due to greater volume of milk used.

Recipe said to gently shake the pot to loosen the skin every 20-30 minutes

during heating process, but I only developed skin at the end of the 2 1/2 hour

period.

My husband had read that goat's milk needs to be heated to 185 degrees in order

to destroy bad bacteria. I'm pretty sure it didn't get that hot, as now husband

is in full blown flare after ingesting it. (I warned him NOT TO!)

It IS quite possible that this has caused his flare, ya think? He started

flaring about 11 hours after eating it. We initially thought we were safe, so I

thought " what the heck? appears to be OK. "

He is blaming either the yogurt, or two year old prescription digestive enzymes

he used yesterday for first time in awhile, or chicken soup which had some

onions, garlic, and celery; simmered for 4 hours.

I'm pretty sure it's the yogurt.

Feedback?
