Guest guest
I just started reading Life Without Bread, a fascinating book. Early on, they list the usual suspects as " restricted " foods. But a few pages later, as they were explaining formula for carb limit per day (6 BU's -- bread units), I was quite surprised to read that as long as you didn't exceed this cap, you could eat any kind of carb, including pastry, pasta, etc., a claim that is clearly in conflict with Elaine's dictum re no " illegal " carbs under any circumstances. So, if I'm reading correctly, it would appear that Lutz's definition of " restricted " is much different from E's " illegal. " I was also surprised that Lutz would cap the amount of any carb, restricted or not, as E and many on this list have emphasized repeatedly, scd is NOT a no carb diet, but special carb diet, and one could eat any amount of legal carbs (sensitivities aside). Anyone else familiar with both texts catch this apparent contradiction? Any thoughts? thanks, tom ibs
