Guest guest
My well respected neurologist precribed LDN for me and had no problem with it. I know Dan gets LDN from the neurologist at UCSF. I think if the University of California at San Francisco is prescribing LDN then other neuros should take another look at it too. My opinion:)You can't be on narcotics when on LDN because they act against each other. Naltrexone was originally used in treatment of alcoholism and drug abuse to mute their effects. At least that's what I think I remember;)hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. And I'm pretty sure it's a rare neurologist that will prescribe LDN.. and I can't remember what my neurologist said about it.. IF I had remembered to ask about it in the first place.. The nurses in the Tysabri Infusion Center, that my neurologist operates, tell me that he leans more toward Copaxone than the other modifying drugs, though he will use them if needed... Though he told me he didn't have a strong opinion about any of them, when I asked him. I suspect that the nurses who see most of us, at least from time to time, would have a more comprehensive (maybe that's not the word for it).. knowledge of what he's prescribing most... There are doctors and neurologists out there that will prescribe the LDN, but I'm pretty sure that they are few and far between.. If I'm not terribly mistaken though.. some of the group here, are able to get a supply of LDN from somewhere, and handle all of it themselves.. I'm pretty sure it comes in a pill that you crush and dissolve into a certain amount of water.. and then take so much of that mixture every day.. and it's not expensive.. Hope you can find something that will help you out at a little bit.. I'm not sure why you'd have to stop Percocet to take LDN, but then I haven't researched the two to know either.. BUT.. I can tell you that the neuro-ophthalmologist that I saw sometime recently.. prescribed Esgic (Butalbital, Tylenol & Caffeine) for my Ocular Migraines.. Butalbital is the narcotic agent in the drug.. I thought it was a bit much for those migraines, because all it seemed like I had was a sinus type headache, and usually Tylenol or Advil worked for that pain.. I CAN tell you, though, that the Esgic does work to knock down some pretty good pain too.. HUGS |)onna Thanks Donna, it seems that the Copaxone I on is not doing much to help my situation. Since I'm already on blood pressure meds, I'm hoping to do little research into this one and perhaps convince my doctors to switch me over to this brand if there's any chance that it could be beneficial for me. It's probably a crapshoot, but right now I don't have much to lose. The other thing I want to convince my neurologist to consider is LDN. I know that many people swear by it but he is still skeptical as to whether it's valid or not. Another issue to consider is that he's Percocet as a painkiller, which I would obviously have to stop before I start the LDN. I'm dealing with a lot of pain these days so I'm wondering what could be used to replace that should the need occur. Lifeportunities: transform your home-based life into freedom. HUGS |)onna what is the name of that blood pressure drug that is currently being tested for its effectiveness in treating MS? I want to do some more research into it and see if it's something my doctor would be willing to try… I'm on blood pressure meds anyhow, so I'm hoping she might go with it.
