EMT or Medic?

You know, if you look at your card from DSHS or even your state EMS

certification patch, it states EMT then your additional title (Emergency Medical

Technician, Intermediate, Paramedic or Licensed Paramedic).  You are an EMT

first.  Many people use EMT or medic as a general term.  As nurse is a nurse

whether LVN, RN, CRNA, NP, etc. they ALL had to be a " nurse " first before the

special training for CRNA or NP.

It really should not matter what title is used to identify what you are. A

Funeral Director maybe both a funeral director & embalmer, but is not required

to an embalmer.  But, an embalmer is usually a funeral director.  Are you

confused yet.

Just so you know, the funeral service is much like EMS, pay starts low, and

depends on where you work.  Private or family owned is going to pay less than a

corporate funeral home.  Corp homes are much like the money hungery, underhanded

private EMS providers, it all about the $$$$, with less formal personal

service.

Just my view.
