Guest guest
Hello, Im curios to post and see how people feel about how effective conventional treatments have been for them, and comparatively how effective any alternative treaments have been for people. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitus when i was 11, and went through a thorough regement of several drugs from prednisone to asacol, all i rememeber about this time is feeling very sick and really no different from the way i was before being treated, Although over about a three year period many of my symptoms subsided, When i was 16 i was diagnosed with PSC, after noticing jaundice. Also in this situation i remember my symptoms being more apparent after being treating with prescriptions, and also going back on asacol. Several times i had asked my GI about diet and what i should avoid eating, and he said to not worry about it just to eat alot and keep my weight up. Visiting the Integrative medical clinic in tuscon AZ, they recomended avoiding transfats ( hydrogenated oils) and several other food additives as these where known to be inflamatory. They also recommended eating Omega oils preferably from wild salmon and also tradition chinese medicine. Over the last six years i have struggled with the illness and looked into many different therapies. over this time i felt a slow progression of symptoms and scarage. Then this past august i lost much confidence in the recommended treatments of my hepatoligist and stoped taking all medications which were just asacol and urso and went on a raw food diet. Altough this was a scary transition I really have felt better ever since. After stoping asacol my jaundice began to subside, a proper diet also was crucial in making this happen. Since then i have been able to mitigate most of my symptoms with diet and i have much better digestion than before. I was told that i would need a liver transplant and have surpased that date and my blood test levels no longer indicate that im in need of one, as they did before. Anyways, since this is the way ive come to feel somewhat healthy, its led me to wonder about the long term effects of accumulated drug toxicity and food. Because Many of these drugs i have taken pounds of over the years. Besides the active ingredient, All prescriptions have some type of fillers, as in asacol which has colloidal silicon dioxide, dibutyl phthalate, edible black ink, iron oxide red, iron oxide yellow, lactose, magnesium stearate, methacrylic acid copolymer B, polyethylene glycol, povidone, sodium starch glycolate, and talc I question how the body goes about synthesizing these products? and what are the side effects? Im curios to your thoughts and felt inclined to share so thanks for listening. Thanks ! Wylie 22- oregon
