,

how far are you into the diet?

Last weekend I went to visit some friends for three days. Here is

what I took (using SCD legal ingredients):

two quart jars of yoghurt

ripe bananas

peanut butter

hard-boiled eggs

cheese (I sliced it before I packed it)

carrots (cut into sticks)

yoghurt dip (made out of dripped yoghurt and some spices)

a small container of honey

cheese cake

paper plates

a couple of forks, knives and spoons

napkins

While there, we went out to eat a couple of times. One time I had

broiled salmon and a salad, another time I had a bun-less hamburger

with steamed vegetables and a small salad.

At their home, we broiled meat and fish, steamed vegetables and made

salads. I made the dressings for the salad to be SCD legal and they loved it.

It will be much harder when I visit my family in Germany in the fall

..... where bread and potatoes rule ...

I bought a mini travel fridge that I can put in the car, and an adapter plug

that also plugs in the wall. It helps when I am on the road. I go very simple-

yogurt, honey, peppermint tea, a jar of nut butter, cooked apples, chicken

breasts and hamburger patties- cooked and frozen ahead of time, cheese. Others

on this board have traveled and are more imaginative than I am! Yes- paper

plates, spoons, a mug you can put in the microwave.

Once my hubby made a remark about me not being able to eat out in restaurants,

and I told him I would rather be well, and keep him company. When the family

wants to go someplace like Asian, or Mexican, I just have some tea and eat later

in the car.

Cooked fruit - apple sauce, pear sauce, apricots, peaches

Meat I roasted and packed in baggies - beef roast, turkey breast, chicken

A glass container of chicken soup

Vegetables cooked and packed in containers - green beans, cauliflower, carrots,

brocoli, asparagus, squash, spinach

For snacks - avocados, hard cheese

Lemons for my water, homemade catsup, homemade mayo, grape juice, butter

In a sack: paper plates, bowls, plastic flatware, napkins, salt/pepper
