any rules about how often or infrequently you could dose the

chelators and he told me that the ONLY rule was that the chelator had

to be given with regard to half life or sooner, even every 10 minutes

is fine just not the point past the half life.

TK--- There is more to correct dosing than the simple rule above.

What barb was talking about was giving dmps at 8hr and then the next

dose at 6hr and then switching back to 8hr to get an extra dose in

and for her convience which is going to be a problem for many people

and not recommended.

The way you state the above makes it look like it is ok since it is

earlier than the half life but it is not ok for many people to dose

this way. There are other rules that apply to dosing.

We had always dosed her dmsa/ala anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours

during the day to allow her to participate in ballet classes or

social gatherings and this has worked out fine.

TK--- which may be fine for your case if your taking into account the

dosage time change and adjusting it and/or dosage accordingly. This

may not be fine for others and consistency of dosing is key to

keeping redistribution to a minimum. I for instance can not

tollerate changes like this even with adjusting the timing and dosage

appropriately.

I will try and find Andy's post concerning this and forward it here

but the ONLY rule is that the chelator must be dosed no longer than

it's half life.

TK--- this is not the extent of what can and should not be done in

regard to dosing and will confuse people as there are actually other

rules which apply to help people understand what they can and

shouldn't do regarding dosing. please review dosing and timing on

moria's site for rules that apply and should be followed.
