Guest guest
My son (the one in the family w/ confirmed PSC) takes 400 mg a day and he weighs 88 lbs. He also takes IV gentamicin orally daily so maybe that's why he is on a relatively lower dose of xifaxan ?? My GI prescribed xifaxan for me- I have recently been diagnosed w/ crohn's and intestinal lymphangecstasia (sp ?) I have 'mystery' liver disease/damage..stage III bridging fibrosis but no current concern for my liver- I think at least...long story.. My doctor prescribed 1,200 mg a day of xifaxan for me. Does that sound like a high dose for an adult ? Lori lucky mom blessed with triplets including my son with short bowel syndrome, PSC, portal hypertension, hypogammaglobinemia and smarty pants disease
