ALA Intolerance

Hi all,

I haven't written in a while as everything was going smoothly on the DMSA along

for a long time.

I have taken about 25 rounds at 25mg to excellent effect.

But I need some help now please.

6 months ago I tried ALA at 12.5 mg. I battled through 3 rounds, but was so

dysfunctional I had to stop.

I could not lift my arms I was so tired, dysfunctional, could do nothing.

I live alone and can't manage this and have to work to earn.

So I gave up the ALA and went it alone with DMSA and treated my adrenals with

Adrenal glandular and vitamins. I'm taking all of Andy's supplements barring

Molybdenum (could it be that?). All the oils, the B-vitamins, zinc, vitamin c

etc

So, 2 weeks ago I tried ALA again at 3.75mg and actually felt better on round

(which was not the case last time - I felt shit all the time then). But 2 days

after the round I crashed emotionally and have become dysfunctional again. Can't

work, sit like a 'bump on a log' and barely move. I don't have thyroid problems,

and am assuming this is all adrenals. But why?

I was feeling great and I still can't pick myself up, despite a round of DMSA in

the last week to try.

I still feel terrible.

I do very well on NAC and am going to increase it (was only taking 200mg /day),

so I'm assuming that I'm low glutathione.

I'm thinking maybe I should start some stronger adrenal support?

Could the metal released with ALA poison my adrenals?

My adrenals were FAR out of range on hair test with a Na/Mg ratio of 17.

Can't afford a saliva test.

I've also got no appetite..

Any suggestions please!

My thinking: get my adrenals up (with cortisol, etc) and wait a LONG time before

I try ALA at 1mg with more NAC and Molybdenum.

Thanks,

Kai

P.s. I'm ever grateful to this list.
