Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, If you're not taking prednisone, then you shouldn't have adrenal gland insufficiency. -Marie Marie To: From: cswb@...Date: Thu, 19 Jun 2008 19:23:32 -0600Subject: RE: dxing another autoimmune disease Marie,I am not on prednisone. I dread going on it again. I was on it for a year when I was originally dx with AIH, 4 months later they changed the dx to PSC. About 2 years ago my dr decided I have overlap. But my GI died of a brain tumor and we've never done anything about the AIH. I can't tolerate imuran and 6-mp was causing me to have low blood counts. My new GI says we need to do more tests. But then we never scheduled them. I am so sick with this other thing that I hardly care about the liver problems right now. Woe is me! drama, drama, drama. What are the symptoms of adrenal gland insufficiency? Sorry for all your problems. Take care, Cheryl ID PSC/AIH/UC/fibromyalgia, etc-----Original message-----From: Marie Nilsson marie_nilsson17 (AT) msn (DOT) comDate: Thu, 19 Jun 2008 18:00:03 -0600To: Subject: RE: dxing another autoimmune disease> > Cheryl,> > I think you may be right, that the more autoimmune diseases you have the more likely it is that you'll get even more. That's what it feels like anyway. I seem to be getting a new diagnosis at least annually. Now I'm also starting to be borderline diabetic!!!> > -Marie, 56> UC, J-pouch, PSC, AIH, adrenal gland insufficiency> > P.S. If you're taking 10 mg of prednisone/day, chances are you are adrenal gland insufficient and you should be wearing a medic alert bracelet. If you can't take the prednisone, you need to go to the ER. You also need to take a stress dose of prednisone when you go to the ER or when you're sick.> Marie>> > > > > Hey all,I saw a rheumy in SLC yesterday to see if I could get a dx for whatever is destroying my nose and making my ears, throat, head, and eyes, etc. hurt. I thought maybe it was Relapsing Polychondritis. He thinks it is a type of vasculitis called Wegener's Granulamotosis. I am really feeling like I'm Job or something. OK maybe that is a bit much. My pain has been so intense lately. But how many health problems can one person have? this dr is runnning ANA, ANCA, CBC, Kidney function, liver function, urine test, chest x-ray and sed rates. He said he would let me know in a week if he wants to run more tests or if there is enough for a dx. It just brings me back to the old days of trying to get dx with PSC. I do have a bit more patience and sense of peace about such things now, but my overall health is so much worse lately. I am suffering more nausea and am throwing up in the AM. It might be the spironolactone or maybe liver failure. Here's a question about auto-immune diseases: Ifwe get one autoimmune disease, we are more likely to get another, correct? Does that mean that for every new autommune disease that we get, that it statistically increases the likelyhood of getting another? I mean does each autoimmune we get possibly mean that we are more suseptible to getting more and than more? This does not bode well . . .
