Guest guest
Hi Karey, Welcome to the group, as you will see you will get a lot of replies to your messages. First of all it is a lot to absorb, especially a young mother like you with young children. One thing for sure don't let your diagnosis bring you down, and at times it can. Learn and ask questions, a lot of us in this group have spent months and a couple of years with no symptoms. I am 35, a mother of 2 teenagers and was diagnosed with PSC in 2005. Early this year I started with the itching (this is nerve racking) but started taking Questran and for now its controlled. Have some slight discomfort on my right upper quadrant by the rib cage but not as often ( it feels like a cramp) to be miserable. actigal (ursidol) it does help to maintain swelling down in the bile duct. One thing to remember all of us in here are different to how we react to this and procedures. I just saw my doctor today for the results of my MRCP. Not to good he says I have more strictures. The next plan, another ercp with dialation, brushings, and biopsy. Then he says with those results, he will start sending my information to JMH University of Miami where they do the transplants. I don't want to scare you but this is just me, remember everone is different. My cholesterol was 270 about six months ago which my primary doctor freaked out and says its due to the food I eat (NOT!) I stay away from fried foods and eat fairly well. My GI doctor says its due to PSC. I tend to relax a little more and spend more time with my loved ones. I pray that everything turns out well, but as I once read in an article from a woman that was diagnosed with cancer " I am here for a short time in this body, so I enjoy the time that I can in it to the fullest till my soul moves on. " Knowledge is power and hopefully you remain strong for you and your family. sincerely, marisol > > Hello, > I was just diagnosed a month ago with autoimmune overlap which means I > have both autoimmune hepatitis and PSC.
