My dr. switched me to vistaril when he decided that I was using way too much benadryl. It works pretty good for me most of the time but I don't have unrelenting itching like quite a few people here do. I just have annoying itching. I know its supposed to make you drowsy but I haven't noticed an increase in drowsiness. I actually haven't noticed any side effects. Darcy One of my doctors suggested Vistaril (sp) for itching.
