My two cents.....

The thing that seemed to put me over the top on moving forward with

the transplant were the bad blood numbers.

Latest tests show my white count at 2.4 (labeled as " critical " on the

lab report), Red cell count of 3.9, and platelet count unmeasurable

due to significant platelet clumping. Those numbers haven't moved in

about nine months.

Have your husband's spleen checked. Mine is about three times normal

size, and I was told that such an enlarged spleen will trash all of

the blood cells.

You may be building a case for taking this to the next level.

Thank you for the reply. I was wondering how often your blood work

was checked and if there was anything the doctor was watching for?

It had appeared that the liver is enlarged due to an ultrasound he

had because the spleen couldn't be found during the ultrasound. We

can't get a straight answer for that from the doctor and he doesn't

think it is a big deal. We asked about doing an mri but we were

told that it was unnecessary. We are struggling with figuring out

what the next step should be.
