Guest guest
Hi Kim, I too felt completely deflated with the chronic lyme DX (Lyme is indeterminate but I am positive on all coinfections legal to test for in NY State my biggest issues are Erlichiosis, Bartonella and Babesia) It makes a lot of sense given my medical history but it is still such a confusing world that I find it quite overwhelming. I cannot take antibiotics.. I would do a short couple month stint if I could. You should load up on S Boulardii. You sound like you are in good capable hands. Were you tested for any co-infections? Did you get the CD57 test? Are they thinking of giving you Plaquanil to deal with some of the body discomfort? Herx from Antibiotics and Lyme can be hell so just be aware you may feel A LOT worse before you feel better. Is she planning on combining the Zithro with any other antibiotic? What about doing pulsing with Tindmax to burst the microscopic Lyme cysts? I hear of more and more people using Tinda successfully. Good luck.. Feel free to email me off-list too. You now, Jodi, a few months from now after more recovery, I wonder if you could. Mara
Guest guest
Hi all,Lyme DX by ND/MD came yesterday. Kind of overwhelmed with it, so if anyone else has a DX for "chronic" lyme, I would appreciate any resources or info, thoughts on treatment etc.ND/MD calls it "chronic" vs "single incident" because my symptoms have been persistent for longer than 3 months, and there is not a specific history of a tick bite, or recent evidence (rash, etc.) First course of action is 30 days antibiotics - she prefers Doxycycline, but we agreed on Zithromax, with ++ probiotic and acidolophus supplementation - genlter on my system. She wants to "provoke" the bugs and then re-test, because we need secondary confirmation for insurance compliance. I have not started the Zithro yet - I have not been on antibiotics since starting SCD.well, I bet the Lyme is making you feel worse than the gut stuff at the moment - it'sa total energy drain and creates low grade fevers, etc. Have epsom salt baths for Lyme induced achiness. And unless you turn out to beultra sensitive to the antibiotics, or you have tons of co-infections or a really tricky case, like Jodi, I bet you'll start feeling better pretty damn soon. I didn't follow why you preferred zithromax to doxycyclineND/MD follows ilads.org protocol for treatment. We are going to re-test blood after first course of Zithro. She anticipates that because we caught it early, my treatment can be handled naturally after initial antibiotics . . .So, any thoughts or help woudl be appreciated. Reliable resources on lyme that other have found helpful.Kind of deflated yesterday - and after everyone went to bed, all I really wanted was a huge bowl of mac & cheese (even GF!!) but I completely resisted and had meatballs and cauliflower puree instead . Oh, food + emotions!SCD mac and cheese recipe coming up:http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/BTVC-SCD/message/2665hi everyone..i made that mac and cheese recipe and it was simply divine- here it iscopy and pasted!> "One recipe idea I can give you as my> husband really missed his rice and ptoatoes in the begining. weget the> dry curd cottage cheese (about one cup), mix one egg 1/2 cupalmondflour, salt,> pepper, and then grate cheddar cheese (about 1/2.cup) and mix all> together. Also, I usually saute up a bunch of fresh veggies - onions, tomatoes, zucchini, garlic, fresh herbs of various kinds, sometimes eggplant, until it is all wellcooked, spread that out on the bottom of a baking dish and then add a double mac and cheese recipe on top of that and cook it for a while, (the 15 minute rec.on top I find completely insufficient) - and it is really yummy.
