Guest guest
I think it's pretty typical for them to deny the first time. I was denied too, and had to appeal. I sent them basically the same stuff I sent the first time (perhaps a little more detail but didn't change my story since I'd told the truth the first time!) and this time they approved me. I think they're trying to weed out the people who aren't very persistent when they deny the first time. athan
Guest guest
Totally non-PSC related, but a friend's mother applied due to back problems and was denied. My friend (and everyone else) told her that pretty much everyone gets rejected and you have to appeal. Seems like an awfully stupid way to run a program -- only the lawyers are getting rich. Guest guest
they still didn't accept me and I'm having to appeal.>>> I just asked my husband who filed my claims for disability. He said we appealed 3 times. I was turned down not due to the psc (which they accepted me for the 1st time) but because I didn't have enough points since I hadn't worked full time in a few years. After I accumulated enough points I qualified immediately. Since you used to work I doubt the points are the issue but it might be something to check into - find out why exactly you were denied. And most of all don't give up. I seem to remember that many of us were denied at least once when we applied. I hope you are successful very soon. It has to be very frustrating.
