UC (and less frequently, Crohn's) is very commonly associated with PSC. It's not unusual for UC to be seen on a PSC patient's 1st colonoscopy, even if they're asymptomatic for UC. Most of us with PSC receive annual colonscopies, since we're at increased risk for colon cancer.

PSC does involve pain, especially during cholangitis and bile duct " sludge blockages " . Keep in mind that YOU are the boss - it's your life they're talking about. You need a hepatologist.

....Also, I noticed that most of you have UC, is this something that I should worry about developing over time, or would I already have it? I have so many questions and my dr. is a Kaiser Gastric dr. and he doesn't seem to get it. He claims that PSC doesn't have pain and can't figure out what is wrong with me. Would you suggest I find a hepatologist?..
