Guest guest
> > I know we have the American Medical Association but I'm not actually sure what they do or if they take complaints. The AMA does NOT handle complaints about physicians. Nor does it make referrals. It basically doesn't deal with the public very much at all. In the U.S., if you want to lodge a formal complaint about a physician, contact your state board of professional regulation or your state medical board Both of these organizations are involved with physician licensing and discipline. But the complaints they deal with are usually big-time things: fraud, inappropriate sexual advances, substance abuse If your complaint is more about the doctor's beside manner, interpersonal relations or that kind of thing, you'll likely get more satisfaction from talking to the doc's boss -- the medical director of a group practice or the dept. head at the hospital.
