Probably because the dentist didn't place the composite properly. > Have anyone else here experienced the same? Yes, I did once. The tooth had to have a root canal (according to the dentist at the time). That root canal was redone by a mercury free dentist. I haven't lost the tooth yet - but if it is a problem in the future I will probably have to have it removed. > What can I do about it? I do not tolerate penicilin/antibiothics. Rinse your mouth with salt water several times a day. Take as much vitamin C as you can tolerate (spread over the day). These are temporary measures. > I think I have to pull dem out, right? > Go to www.iaomt.org and see if you can find a dentist in your area who has more experience with composites. Consult with several dentists if you are able to. There are different opinions about what to do and it would depend on how advanced the problem has progressed. Yes, and sometimes it just happens also, despiet the dentists best intentions. There are a few real dentists. When amalgams are removed the best poilcy is to replace them with a tempory filling material immediately, like zinc or calcium oxide. The metal amalgam has expanded the tooth structure over years and it needs time to settle before a hard composite is placed. Usually a week or two is fine and then the HARD composite can be placed. Biocompatible fillings should be used and the teeth ozonated before fillings are placed. This is usually enough to prevent any infection. Here is a summary of what you should ask for from a dentist when you visit them. http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/healingnetwork/day_of_dental_visit.html I was a told this story today: " Here's a horror story from a friend PP who still insisted on doing a root canal but to his credit endeavoured to find the best guy for the job. He eventually tracked down one ___________ an " endodontist " (RC specialist, first time i hear the term). On the eve of the appointment he asked for information on the composition of the RC filling material but they refused to give it to him or to provide the name of the supplier!! When he insisted, the good doctor said: " would you rather cancel the appointment? " ... which he promptly did. The only realistic assumption is that they have something nasty to hide...
