Guest guest
I've discovered that my digestion just works better if I don't eat high-carb SCD foods on a regular basis, and eat mostly low-carb and medium-carb foods. The good thing is that the longer I've been on SCD the better my digestion tolerates a small amount of a few high-carb SCD foods on an occasional basis. And I still have to be careful with fat and fiber content because of functional digestive disorders, and how I prepare foods makes a difference. But it is nice to have the occasional treat of a high-carb food and only suffer for a few hours instead of a few days afterwards. That's one of the terrific features of SCD, that there is such a variety of permitted foods. Each of us can figure out what foods work best at the various stages of our healing journey. Takes time, though. And the first year on SCD is the hardest, coping with our digestions and giving our bodies time to heal. But well worth the struggle. Kim M. Yes! scd yogurt has some carbs (I guess that about 4 or 5 g per serving) but they are supposed to be monosacharides, so they should not cause much trouble. I am eating one yougurt after each meal (3 a day). I tried to suppress them and re-introduce them, and finally I decided to keep them. I have always loved yogurt, and scd yougurt tastes even better... stronger :-D Chronic D since 2005 SCD April 29 Intro May 29 Low-carb Jun 11 > good luck > eileen 18 months scd >
