Guest guest
We made a Oh-Oh My husband had a clinic appointment yesterday. They told us that they were going to list him. Then the doctor looked at our medication and supplement list and said " what's this " . It was vitamin K. Needless to say the Dr. wasn't happy. When my husband went for his transplant evaluation, the person, dr or tech doint the bone density scan told him that he needed to be taking vitamin D and K. So we said okay. We didn't know that vitamin K effects your INR. We have now learned that it will lower your INR which in turn can lower his meld. My question is does anyone know how long it will take to get 100mcg vitamin k daily ( for about a month) out of his system? I'm worried that this will effect his getting listed. His meld is a 15. Lesson learned, from now on we will consult the Hepatologist on all supplements even the ones that look harmless. wife of Jerry PSC2001, UC
