Guest guest
Yeah, I saw it...it is better than the other one, but not as good as the one that I was telling you all about. But at least they are making headway. Guest guest
I am glad they have finally decided to add the rest of the story a little bit. The first commercial made it look like we had a tension headache. It did not even do any justice to explaining this damn devil of a disease. WE NEED the whole story out there so people will get a little education on this and not think it is such a simple insignificant little problem. hugs, Debra V. phankins56 phankins56@...> wrote: Hello Group, Has anyone else seen the new Lyrica commercial? The skinny chick is gone! The woman they have now looks more realistic....She talks about how debillitating it can be and how it can be hard to complete the most simple of daily tasks because of the pain...So, maybe they got a bunch of complaints from fibro sufferers? It's better, I think , than the other one was.... Wishing you all Gentle Hugs and Painless Days, Pam --------------------------------- You rock. Guest guest
it must be nice to have the energy to curl one's hair and put on makeup, too, and look picture perfect! the weight issue i am not sure of, the skinny gal reminds me of me, when mine flared so bad, i lost 30 pounds because i didn't have energy to cook, get take out, nothing, i just slept and did not eat. the woman in this new commercial almost looks the picture of health. but then i don't have my symptoms under control with meds yet, i am so sensitive to side effects, so sorry if i am whining again. take care, marg > Hello Group, > > Has anyone else seen the new Lyrica commercial? Guest guest
I saw one of the brainless Lyrica commercials last week, the one were a lady was attending her garden the size of a small town. (Yea right) Commercials have a set formula: 1. They use actors, not real people. 2. The story line and scenes are all scripted. 3. All your problems can be solved with just one little pill. 4. Lyrica is making these commercials with one goal in mind -Profit- Real people with real Fibromyalgia can see right through these ad campaigns as being absurd in the portrayl of the typical FM sufferer. Reliable, hard facts are being shared by the Fibromyalgia community and on this board. Since everyone is different, Lyrica may work for some and not for others. These kind of " dorky " commercials are a form of stereotye where the general public is fed misinformation on Fibromyalgia.
Guest guest
Hey, The drug companies need to make their zillions of dollars too! Everyone will be going to their doctors begging for the cure in a little pill. I did some research on it and I'm afraid to take it. I have really bad headaches and that is one of the side effects. Guest guest
Angie, I know what you are saying, but there is one commercial that seems to have been able to do a pretty good job of lumping it up into a short commercial. Guest guest
They are trying to sell a drug; not educate people on the disease. They want you to think the drug will work; otherwise why would you buy it. Besides, it would take more than the 30 second slot they have to explain Fibro.
