Guest guest
dear kristy, i had uterine cancer when i had my twins in 92, 3 months later they found the cancer and i had a hysterectomy the twins where great but i was not after all this 6 months down the line i was also told i have lupus and fibromylgia, ihave had 3 tumors removed from my body on different organ parts that the lupus attackes. so ya i feel to that fibro was a big part of my cancer --so my daughters get screened every year for lupus and the cancer and the signs of fibro. stay safe and try the new drug for fibro-- lyrica it works wonders --i am up to 300 mg a day take care amy Re: Fibromyalgia ...hereditary My aunt on my dad's side (and my only blood aunt) has fibromyalgia as well. Guest guest
The theory put forward to me is that when you are in a traumatic situation you go into " flight or fight " , in that moment your brain does not care that it leaves permanent damage it is only interested in getting out of danger in that moment. That adrenaline blows out your alpha waves and alpha waves control sleep and without sleep your body cannot repair itself, and that is why you can get psudeo fibro after 3 days of sleeplessness. Essentially our body can no longer repair like other people and thus " end systems failure " occurs and most of the lupus, arthritis, endocrine etc are end system's failures, it won't kill you and thus you live in a permanent semi hell, which a friend of mine worked out the hard way when he went on night shift for 5 weeks best thing that ever happened to me. Walk a mile in my shoes and then call me crazy. Re: Fibromyalgia ...hereditary > > I have read that truama can bring the onset of Fibro, along with stress. ------------------------------------ 1. While it is wonderful to share our experiences with everyone on the list as to what treatments do and don't work for us, pls always check with your dr. Some treatments are dangerous when given along with other meds as well as to certain health conditions or just dangerous in general. 2. If you are in a difficult situation (doesn't matter what it is) pls don't be afraid to ask for help. It is the first step to trying to make that situation better. 3. To unsubscribe the e-mail is: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group-unsubscribe 4. Also, it is not uncommon for more than one member to be feeling bad at the same time when it comes to flares and b/c of that potentially take something another member says the wrong way. And that includes the things that one member may find funny (even if it's laughing at fibro itself) even though we who deal with illness whether one such as fibro or multiple illnesses try to keep a sense of humor. 5.. Pls let's be gentle with each other, and if you are having a bad day pls let us know so that we can do our best to offer our support. Have a nice day everyone. Guest guest
I guess that would explain how I developed this demon called Fibromyalgia. Last February my best friend of 32 years committed suicide and I went into a state of shock and severe deep depression. My best friend was everything to me, we did everything together. I would even go to Houston once a Month to visit for the weekend. That was my severe trauma!! Debra B ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ You rock. Guest guest
This is interesting. 1 My GrandMother has Fibro. She was diagnosed about 10 yrs ago. She is my Mothers Mother. 2 On my fathers side, I have 1 Aunt and 2- 1st cousins with MS. I think I had some symptoms about 5 yrs ago but not bad. I think that was when the mental fogs started because I remember complaining to my 1st husband about the inability to concentrait and feeling " stupid " and forgetting and being tired alot. Then shortly after that started my first husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor and only lived 23 days. I was 35 and I went through the MOST awful time of my life. There is literally about a whole 2 months after he died that I really don't remember anything at all. Then when I got myself together and met my 2nd hubby and remarried, I was about 6 mo. pregnant with our son for some reason I think I had this idea that my 1st husband was away or something subconciously because it hit me very badly that he would never be back and I went through another depression. I not was predisposed to anything like depression before this all happened in my life. It was when I was 6 mo. pregnant that I noticed increased fatigue and muscle pain. Of course it took a long time to figure all this out because I was pregnant and older and the Dr's where aways focusing in on that. I also tried to explain away alot too. Things do seem to be getting worse symptom wise. I have good " weeks " and then wham back I go again. Stairs are so hard sometimes and the last bout I had, I had to be careful because I fell a couple times. I quit smoking recenly and am gaining weight soooo fast. I hate it. Also in the hospital when I had a mile a gram about 3 mo. ago (Will NEVER do that again!!) I had a reaction to the dye and I was very sensative to the morphine for pain. I don't post much cause I really hate to complain. It is nice to see I am not alone here. Blessings Penny Penny s --------------------------------- You rock. Guest guest
I certainly agree. When we talk about traumatic life events, that is when we have turned on our survival skills and put our bodies into full alert mode. It is just that our bodies never turned it off. This all much sense to me. I will add that I have always been an anxious person and was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and depression years before the fibro kicked me hard. love and hugs, Debra V.
