Guest guest
Mickey, Why on earth didn't the darned doctor rule out RA??? That's a simple blood test and would definitely save you the unfortunate " extra " diseases of the neuropathy and the pulmonary fibrosis (not sure what that is, but I have asthma and chronic bronchitis/COPD so imagine that it impacts your lung function in some capacity). I thought most rheums ruled out lupus and RA before they landed on fibro. Sigh....that's what I get for thinking, huh? Glad the Lyrica is working for you, however! Darlene > Welcome Sue, I'm hoping we are able to answer your questions and give you encouragement. I would certainly imagine that the stress you have been through with your daughter could have triggered it. It is such a wierd disease, you just never know. It sounds like you have a good thorough doctor though, and that is a good thing. Good luck and don't hesitate to ask anything or just come and vent...that's what we are here for. > Hugs, > /Mi > I'm new here > > Hi to everyone! > I just went to the doctor for a check up on Tuesday. I gave her my list of " complaints " , expecting to hear that I have a thyroid out of whack or needed vitamins or that I'd be told I'm just making up all my complaints. Instead, I was told that she (the doctor) wanted to run a bunch of tests, that what she is thinking is diagnosed by ruling out everything else and that she suspects I have fibromyalgia. > After going home and reading about what this is, I see where she is thinking this. I decided on Thursday that heck NO, I'm not going to allow this to happen to me. I had a good day on Friday. But today, I went out to work in my yard. It was beautiful outside. I love nothing more than working in my yard. I last 3 hours. I used to work for 10- 12 hours. I was in so much pain in my hips and legs that I had to come in to lay down. After sleeping for about 2 hours, I got up, very, very depressed. > A little more about me....I'm a single mom, 53. I have a daughter who is 18 and getting ready to leave for college this summer. I also have an 11 year old daughter who has Down syndrome and autism. She didn't sleep through the night until she was around 9 years old. Since it was only me here with her, I was up, too. Then I would get up and go to work everyday. > So, first question of what I am sure will be many...could this sleep deprivation have caused this? I do know that I don't sleep very deeply at all, that I wake up 4 and 5 times every night. > Thanks for allowing me to join your group. Guest guest
The PA-C said she'd tested for it on the last six blood tests, and if she couldn't find it..I didn't have it..her words. Very arrogant woman. Believes her own press. Blah She works for a doctor who is 71 who should not be practicing..he has as bad a short term memory as I do due to a major auto accident almost 20 years ago. He lets her roam free. My rheumatologist..a very good doctor..found it first test..she did not have me on an anti-inflammatory..I was on low power darvocet.. Nov.05 I began a hellish journey with a viral infection she refused to treat..says I can't..bulloney..a friend of mine had the same V.I. and he still..wound up paralyzed. Attacked his nervous system and spinal area. I am lucky..I just wound up with short-term memory loss..a chunk of long term memory gone..vertigo..and..the fibromyalgia. Lovely..I left her in July 06..I didn't get over this infection til around September that year. My rheumatologist hates this PA-C..he found out..she had never given me a 24 hour urine collection..he said should be every year..the last urinalysis I had to think about..I use word-association as I forget words even..I recalled it was when my sister was in the nursing home..I said 2000. He almost growled. He said this should happen 2-3 times a year! Neuropathy is numbness in hands and feet..it..kills the nerves..my hands are detiorating because of it. People say Oh..you have diabetes??? Noooo... Pulmonary Fibrosis is according to my pulmonologist..from Untreated RA..lovely.. That..witch..I'll be nice Tried taking me off stuff I needed..saying I didn't need it. Took away my vertigo meds..and I fell in my hallway, busted side of my head..and cracked a knuckle..ok..I told her..I don't have vertigo??? She didn't like me smarting off..I don't care. I could manage my life..before this..now with all of this..and last few years I had something I didn't know what it was. It was Carpal Tunnel..seems RA eats the Myelin Sheath exposing the CT nerves..oh great..I feel like saying Now What?? But..I know better.. My inflammation level has went ga-ga..probably like me.. If I didn't have my humor..I'd be a wreck Mickey/IL The last few days..I've met some more of the itis brothers..I have Bursitis in my shoulder and elbow..and have not been able to move my right arm..When life gives you lemons..make lemonade..and I like lemonade! ddean228 navydaisy228@...> wrote: Mickey, Why on earth didn't the darned doctor rule out RA???
