Guest guest
, I'm so sorry that your class didn't work out. I used to be a water aerobic instructor but had to give it up because of the water temperature. It is such a wonderful exercise for people with limited mobility for whatever reason. Now I drive about an hour away to a hospital that had community classes available in their war water therapy pool. It is heavenly to get in that warm water and begin to move around and exercise. I listen to books on cds to pass the time of the boring drive. My suggestion to you is to try to find a warm water class near you and try it out. You will love it. Cindi in KC > > OMG I am dying today. I am doing water aerobics 2x a week - I think I may have to drop the class at least until summer. The water is so cold to me (it is not a theraputic pool) that last night I could not keep warm. The instructor told me to get out finally 15 minutes early and I went home and just stood under the hot shower. Well be it the fibro or the neuropathy in my legs, all night long my legs spasmed out. I got very little sleep because I was in so much pain with my legs. My girlfriend gave me the class as a birthday present but I am thinking I need to drop it. The girl at the center is checking to see if there was a malfunction in the pool (it's supposed to be heated to 85 - I cannot believe that pool was 85 last night) and will get back to me but said there is no problem getting my friend's money back. > > My friend is going to be mad or at the very least disappointed. > > I've been trying to ride my bike and that is okay - doesn't hurt and actually makes me feel better. My best friend said that's because the bike is warming the muscles whereas the pool right now is not, it's having the opposite effect. > > Gads I hate this disease. And I couldn't take much because I can only take a Tylenol #4 every 4 hours - it was not cutting it last night. > > hugs > - who did make it to work today > > > --------------------------------- > You rock. I went for a walk the other day, and thought I was going to die that same night! I can't explain it, it is like a vicious circle, you hurt, then you do exercises then you hurt some more, then I want to jump up and do more NOT!!!!! why can't people understand that some thing make us hurt worse then other things?!?!?!?!? Guest guest
, I have heard that the water aerobics would help alot, but the water definitely would need to be therapeutic temp-wise to help! What an awesome friend you have to have gotten you such a gift! Can your doctor not give you anything for break-thru pain if you can't take the T4s but every 4 hours? Could you have had a potassium deficiency having done the water and then ridden your bike? Just another thought......my leg spasms ended up being an electrolyte imbalance caused by the docs having me on too high a dose of diuretics. All is well now.....lol.... Guest guest
Thank you Cindy. I did hear from the lady at the pool that one of the nearby hospitals has a therapy pool. I am going to call them tomorrow and find out if they have classes or something. And I'll go back to the water aerobics end of May. I may go as a walk in on Saturdays when the weather gets warmer - which is soon! LOL hugs mackmo51 cholmes51@...> wrote: , I'm so sorry that your class didn't work out. Guest guest
Well I can ask him - I have Tramadol (which now I am afraid to take with Celexa although it was fine with the Cymbalta?) but that doesn't do much. He's not one to give narcotics. I will go back to water aerobics when the air temp/water temp gets warmer which shouldn't be too much longer. I can do it on a walk in basis on Saturdays so I may do that hugs ps - if I say break through pain to my doctor - will he know what that is?!
