Guest guest
I know I have trouble with muscle knots in my left shoulder/back. When I could afford to go to the chiro, he would work on them, and it ws so painful I thought I'd have to kill him. It did get better though...a good painful...I bribe my kids to scratch my back for me and even just a tickle light touch I can feel on those spots...it feels so good.... /Mi Questions about massage therapy Just wanted to say that I had a massage for my birthday. It felt good at the same time it was painful. (that sounds stupid I know). I am really sore now from it. Anyone else get benefit from massage? The therapist found 5 or 6 lumps in my back (like muscle knots). One is the size of a golf ball and she could not get it out for nothing. Also she said when I first got there and she looked at my back that the right back and shoulder are swollen. I have been having problems with that shoulder and that part of my back so bad for months. Will fibro make us swell? The last time I saw the doc he said something about having " inflammatory arthritis " . Love and hugs, Debra V. Is this common for us to have those muscle knots?????? Jeeezzzz. Thanks, Debra V. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Debra, Before I was diagnosed with Fibro I had extremely bad back issues, i've had two surgeries. Before and after the surgeries I would get muscle and deep tissue therapy IE Massage once a week. Its wonderful, and I miss it to know end, but heres the thing about massages that the therapist should have known and told you. If you do really deep work, or extensive work on troubled spots and knots you will be sore the next day or even later that day. Always drink lots of water afterwards to help your muscles. The massage works like lifting weights, that your muscles have to be conditioned to the weights, and you shouldnt jump from lifting no weights to doing 300lb reps. As far as swelling or anything like that, I would bring it up to your doctor and maybe request an xray/MRI if it persits. Hope things are going well for you! Happy Belated Birthday!
