Debra,

I hope that they can put me on a B/P med and keep me on the cymbalta

and the abilify. My docs want me to do a sleep study to see if i have

sleep apnea, which can cause hypertension. and i need to go to a

gastro doc to get my acid reflux under control, because that can cause

sleep apnea. i think i may have it because i have developed a snoring

problem.

if i do have sleep apnea, and it gets resolved, I may not have the

ADHD symptoms and the extreme fatigue anymore. then i wont have to

take an adhd med. i'm bummed about the med not working out but there

is stuff like straterra and even ritalin that is not amphetamine

based. Its funny i was reading a good book on adult ADD and it said

that some people get hyper and also cannot concentrate due to sleep

disorders. its like you are SO tired, you get hyper to keep your self

up and you also get loopy minded. thats how i feel the last four

years-- disorganized and chaotic.

gentle hugs,

Loretta

> Loretta, I also have hypertension. I have been on the same line of

drugs you are on for years. (Not Cymbalta though)... but SSRI

antidepressants. I now take Zoloft. I am not sure but it could be

part of the culprit for the high b/p. I still take it, but I also

take Lisinopril w/ hctz for blood pressure. It seems to work pretty

well... luckily.

> Now, the part about the ADHD meds.... I have wanted to try them

myself but have not said anything to the doc because I know it will

jack my b/p up. Most of those type drugs are amphetamines or

something close to that class of drug. I would love to be able to

take something like that for the horrible exhaustion that is never

ending. (I might be a little ADHD also because my thoughts race

sometimes and they seem to trip over each other).

> And weight gain? Yes, I believe my antidepressants have had a

role in my weight gain. I unfortunately have to live with that

because I cannot stop the antidepressants. (it is a no no for me and

I know from experience)....

> I hope you find something to help you. Maybe they can put you on

a b/p med that will help and MAYBE also one of the ADHD drugs. I

don't know if they would do that or not.
