Guest guest
I would like to know too! The PA at the pain clinic down played the side effects I read about. To be honest (and not sound like a drug fiend) I want something for flare up to take as needed, not long term. I want to try for another baby and can not do it on Lyrica. Guest guest
Kat--I now take Lyrica 225 mg twice a day. I started at 75 mg and worked up to the maximum dose. I saw a drastic reduction in pain at first. It improved to the point that I am out of bed and moving around most days. The pain is not gone but is manageable. The only side effect I have experienced is dry mouth. Guest guest
I was told that Lyrica is a Schedule B drug & can be taken during pregnancy. I have not had any side effects from Lyrica at all. The only thing was that the first few days I started taking it I felt lucid & high. Not complaining about that though! I just got upped to 100mg 3x per day. They help me sleep better and it does not make my Fibro pain go away, but it does lessen it & make my body less sensitive. > > I would like to know too! Guest guest
- I am one of the unfortunate ones who can't take the new wonderdrug, Lyrica. I had blurred vision that was impacting my driving and the swelling had me looking like the fat lady at the circus. I realize I'm not twiggy, but it's demoralizing to start seeing stretch marks on areas of skin that never had them before, all because your skin is splitting and stretching. It did, in fact, split around my ankles at the worst of it! So, I'm on neurontin right now. Up to 2 a days, although today is only the 3rd day of those. What I am noticing is not as much sensitivity. I do seem to be increasing my headaches, and they are specific to one side (the left) but not migraines (suffered those for years so thankfully know the difference!). I go to my new rheumy in a few weeks and hope we can work on a good RX plan for me that won't counteract what I'm already taking. For those on Lyrica, I say if it's working, that's fantastic. I so wanted it to work I took it for 3 months before throwing in the towel. Guest guest
Hi Darlene have you considered asking if you can add Cymbalta to your medications. I take it alongside Lyrica and maybe you could do the same with the neurontin. I am no expert but for me the two in combination works much better especially for restless leg and neuropathy. Guest guest
Darlene, I'm sorry the Lyrica didn't work for you. Yikes, that skin stretching sounds awful. I haven't had that at all. I just hope it keeps working. Hugs, /Mi Re: Questions about Lyrica - I am one of the unfortunate ones who can't take the new wonderdrug, Lyrica. Guest guest
Thank you guys for your input. I so far have only had dry mouth and drowsiness when I first went on it. But I have only been on it for about 6 days, so I am not sure if it will really work yet or not.
