I also can't go to stores or anything and walk around, or else I get into very excruciating pain. Cathy, You voiced my concerns exactly, too. I haven't had my surgery, yet, but I know that there is no way I can go to the gym or exercise too much -- I have 4 ruptured discs in my lower back and a left knee that is shot. Plus, I have chf which leaves me short of breath, so I am not sure what I will do, either. Joanie
Guest guest
Ladies. I feel for you both. I myself have 3 herniated disk, arthritis of the spine and a collapsed vertebra so I too know the meaning of the words back pain. I've lost a total of 84 lbs so far and believe me it has made a wold of differance. I can walk farther and can actually sit for close to two hours at a time (with pain medication of course). Just know that the more weight we lose the less pressure on our poor backs. Liz B > > > In a message dated 12/17/2006 2:13:11 P.M. Guest guest
Perhaps a physical therapist can help you find something comfortable for your situation.
