Guest guest
Not only would I be yelling, but I'd probably be throwing things as well, simply out of sheer frustration and anger. (Don't nobody mess with my babies!) Honey, I understand, and I'm with you 110%....I am a carrier of CF, have a first cousin that recently went through a double lung transplant (successful I might add, so he is now CF free, although he will have to be on meds the rest of his life to keep his body from rejecting his lungs, but the docs say other than that, he should live a very long and very normal life), lost an aunt and an uncle (both as children) of CF, and so when my newborn had cyclic vomiting, bowel problems and difficulty breathing, I went totally nutzo! We live in a po-dunk town (although it has the largest hospital for 200 miles), so I loaded up and headed to Children's Hospital where my little one was tested, and then retested. Turned out it was not CF (PTL!!!! although is a carrier), and did have severe asthma along with cyclic vomiting syndrome. Unfortunately CF is not a common thing they check for, but with the number of carriers (I can name over 20 in our little community alone), they should. My children have all been tested and they know that whoever they decide to marry will have to be tested before they decide to become pregnant.
