Guest guest
Debra, I had a deep tissue massage at 12:30 yesterday, on the way home stopped at a bagel shop to get a sandwich. For whatever reason, I did not eat anything before I left for the massage nor did I eat after the stop at the bagel shop. But I did make another stop where I got a bag of the jellie bellies -- had a craving for jelly beans and that was the closest thing they had. Small bag, really was an individual size. Then after being home for a bit, I made a small peanut butter sandwich. Well, some time after eating that sandwich, I was running to the bathroom about every 10 minutes (2nd time I wasn't quite fast enough!) I finally shut the computer down and went upstairs to lay down as I could get to bathroom more quickly. Also checked everywhere I could thing to look for some med to stop it but could only find stool softener. Called dh at work and asked that he bring me some home. This started between 3 and 4 and I was still going to the bath room as late as 10pm -- can't tell you how much I took of the Immodium. Even called cousin who had had a colonoscopy earlier in the week and said she could try my method, but I still don't know what triggered it. seldom does any work around my stomach/lower adomin and I did feel much better when I got home and no bad effects to day, except that I am going back upstairs as I am still feeling as if I could start going again! But there have been times when I have had a massage and do feel worse afterwords --- be sure you drink a lot of water to flush the toxins out. > > Just wanted to share something. I have a thing I bought for 20 bucks that is called a Shiatsu vest massager. You put it on and it has built in massage things in it. I also lay on it sometimes and position for my lower back too. It says you can do that. Anyway, I used it last night, then I took this other massager I have that is by homedics and it is really a powerful massager. I put the handheld massager up on my knot areas in my upper back. It gave me a deep massage ... especially after I used the vest. > This morning I was hurting beyond belief. I think it is true that deep massage releases toxins. I guess I should drink a bunch of water today. My whole body is feeling even worse kind of like the toxins have been let loose. > Love and hugs, > Debra V. > > > ______________________________________________________________________ ______________ > Be a better friend, newshound, and > know-it-all with Yahoo! As someone has been getting deep tissue massages for 10 or more years, each therapist has sent me out the door with a bottle of water and instructions to keep drinking water. And I had a massage on Wednesday which was very good --- not as many knots as a massage she gave me a month or so ago. I think I posted that I wanted to scream while she was working on those knots between my vertebrae but what I found amazing was that I saw her either the next week or two weeks later and I thought she was not really do really deep massage on me! The answer was simple, she had gotten ride of the knots the last time. This week there were a few but I had another problem but I don't think that was related to the massage. I think I have also posted many times, if you can find a way to yell at the pain while you are getting the massage, it's amazing how much pain you can release that way!!! Find your own phrase, Jackie had me tell the pain " it's been a nice visit, but it's time for you to go!! " I guess you could think of it as my late father-in-law used to say about fish and house guests smelling after three days! The pain is a visitor that you just want to go OUT THE DOOR ASAP!!! Oh, and I do sometimes feel worse after deep tissue but that usually goes away in a pretty short time (next day may be bad, but I think that is the toxins working. ______________________________________________________________________ ______________ > Be a better friend, newshound, and > know-it-all with Yahoo!
