Guest guest
I cut out Nutrasweet (aspartame) and it made a HUGE difference in my pain level. I could barely walk and about one week after stopping, I was moving almost normally after initial stiffness/pain in the morning. Now, if I have some Aspartame by mistake (it is in some fruit juices and flavored waters) the pain level will kick up again. I use Splenda and it does not seem to bother me. My doctor recommends something that starts with an " x " but it is hard to find. > does it help anyone else to cut them out? or like everything else, it > helps some, not others? > thanks, > marg > > > ------------------------------------ > > 1. Guest guest
yes, I am allergic to aspartame , even a piece of extra gum gives me a killer headache and a stomach ache. , the sugar substitute you are speaking of is xylitol and love the stuff...however, it is just becoming popular so it is harder to find but will become easier as time passes. two things about xylitol... it is GOOD for your teeth. it cleans and strengthens them. dentists recommend chewing a piece of xylitol infused gum (I chew the dentine peppermint with xylitol) after each meal but even just taking it helps. also, it is severely poisonous to dogs. even a couple of pieces can kill a small dog. it causes their insulin levels out of this world and their bodies can not process it. -ang ----- Orig a piece oe....eveninal Message ----- To: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group > Sent: Friday, April 25, 2008 12:54 AM Subject: RE: artifical sweetners > > My girlfriend is allergic to aspertame and a few other diet things. maria > > Re: artifical sweetners > > I cut out Nutrasweet (aspartame) and it made a HUGE difference in my > pain level.
