Guest guest
I was wondering when this subject was going to come up. Ten years ago, my youngest son was born, shortly after that I suffered acute mastitis, which, if you've never had it, is severe swelling of the breast caused by clogging of the milk ducts. For a small woman in the first place, tripling in size does NOT feel good. When the antibiotics worked, at long last, I realized that wearing the accursed double barrelled slingshot was a pain in the... well you get the idea. So, I stopped wearing them, entirely. I learned how to disguise, learned that camisoles are a blessing of amazing proportions, and found ONE bra that I can wear without wanting to burn the darn thing four hours later. It's seamless, strapless unless you want the straps, and CHEAP on top of that. Granted, I avoid wearing the darn thing unless I have no choices, but it works. The biggest thing, straps suck, the clasps are worse, and yes, I've been fitted before. If nothing else, I found out I was choosing real close to the right size in the first place. So, if I go out places, I wear my camisoles or I wear my strapless if I have to wear fancy stuff. Otherwise, people can kiss my... well, again you get the idea. A. Neff Rainbow Red for the heart that feels so. Yellow for the sunshine's glow. Orange for the sweetness you know. Green for the plants that grow. Blue for the skies when stars show. Violet for happiness shared before we go. Guest guest
Since we all (women at least) have days where even our bras hurt us, why can't we go and get a professional fitting, then buy one or two that are the next size up for " those days " ? Yes its an expenditure, but since a good deal of us carry around more weight and therefore, more boobs, we gotta be able to wear something. I no longer wear underwire - gave that up a loooong time ago. Some days, when I am going nowhere, I go braless at home (which helps with those pesky yeast infections that like to pop up from time to time....). Guest guest
Here's some insider information, men with FM have the same or similar problem with their testicles that women have with their breasts. The pain does cause reproductive problems, which is why it took 5 years to conceive my daughter. Picture the " Getting kicked in the groin " kind of pain on a regular basis. Guest guest
Who'd have figured on getting the inside scoop on " secret man stuff " information on this forum. Thanks for the insight, . Guest guest
I thought it was good sportsmanship to have an even playing field. I used to belong to a " Stay at Home Parents " group and was the only man. I was given gratuitous welcomes to the group but never fully accepted as one of them simply because I did not carry, birth, or breastfeed. Some of the posting shed light on the, " I would never talk about this around a man " moments. Like detailed instructions on bikini waxing, and having the process go wrong and how to remove the gel on a scalding hot bath.
Guest guest
Ok, I was just reminded of a very funny song from the movie Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey were the leading ladies who had formed a friendship that spanned a number of years, Beaches. There is one song that Bette sang in the movie and is also on the cd which is hysterically funny song about bras --- she sings about the man who invented them and there is one line about the " over the shoulder bolster holder " . But it really does make one laugh and also we can blame the original inventor and also that reclusive millionaire when he designed the original design for the Playtex cross your heart one for Jane in one of her early movies. So, I think this started with a bunch of guys who have never had to wear one of these nasty, uncomfortable garments! I sometimes would be at home visiting my parents --- don't know what time frame, but was so shocked to see my very modest Mother wearing my father's Dago style tee shirts. I could not believe that she was actually walking around dressed in such a manner! This was a woman who really did not think it was proper for her to go with an old male friend of mine when he would stop by and want to go looking for Indian artifacts on the family farm!! Now I have to go to the Walmart site to see if they have the Quenn Latifa bra!! > > > > > > I'm no where near the size I used to be because I lost weight, > but my > > > sister-in-law told me to go to a lingerie shop and get fitted for > a bra. I even show them a place to start if they can't figure it out. I'm even nice enough to provide chapstick or a jar of lip balm.
