Guest guest
Getting someone to listen to the Fibromyalgia community is like throwing a stone in a clear pond. The ripples start out small but eventually spreads out across the surface of the water. The stone represents the issue, the calm pond is the publics awareness of the syndrome. Guest guest
I would prefer Montel over Oprah; she is into some power trips lately. I also don't care for Dr. Phil. Montel has MS and has had folks on his show that are autistic, etc. Another group I belong to has been trying to get his camp interested in our cause. We should try it for fibro. Guest guest
Montel is no longer doing shows. He " retired " about a month or so ago. Guest guest
I just had to add my two cents to this discussion! I started watching Oprah back when she just had a 30 minute morning talk show on one of the Chicago TV stations. She had some really good programs back then and I also remember that my tenant at the time would tape the shows and when she would get up in the night to feed the baby, she would watch the show. Around the time she got the national show, I had moved to San and found it interesting that on one of the shows I watched in those days, she had one of my former neighbors on -- he had been in a nasty confrontation with a bunch of gang kids that were so prevalent in the neighborhood; I did think it was pretty brave of him to go on the show. But over the years, she has become such a major force and we also know from when she filmed one of her movies, how she and the crew treated two historic sites and the staffs pretty badly. And I do have to agree about Montel, he does do an amazing job despite his condition. But I think Dr. Phil's fame has gone to his head and he needs a doctor himself. If you want to read a funny mystery that I know is really about Martha, check amazon to see if you can find a book by Brady (the celebrity gossip columnist in the Sunday Parade magazine) He wrote two light and funny mysteries that take place in the Hamptons. I think that it is the book called Gin Lane that is a veiled story about Martha, she is mentioned in the book by named but the character that is killed sounds so much like Martha, you know he uses her name to avoid a libel suit. It is a very funny book as is another one -- Far Lane --- President Clinton is supposed to show up for a wedding but I think there is a death before that or, someone decides that the president can't go. Both books are funny and very tongue in check. As well as very light reading! > > > > Maybe Oprah would lend a hand;she seems to be into that sort of thing > this decade. > > Dr Phil just plain gives me the creeps, so I'm not asking him but if > we have a Dr Phil > > fanbase in our cozy community I say go for it.
