Guest guest
Hi Penny, I have heard of joint dislocations occuring easily in a few people with FMS but I don't know how widespread it is. My frequently dislocating knee (before surgery) turned out to be caused by an excess of tissue inside the knee joint- not repeated childhood injury as the ortho-doc had thought. Since fibro is thought to be, in part, due to probems with with connective tissue I would not be surprised to hear that many of us have had dislocating joints. Guest guest
Hi Penny - Hypermobility is a common symptom of FM. My 14 yr. old daughter has it in her knees and elbows. And yes, she's been diagnoed with FM since the age of 10. She's got this habit now of feeling the need to pop her elbow joints because they bug her. She flings her arm out straight to get the joint to pop and release the pressure she feels. So far, no dislocations, but she gets knee pain from time to time. Hope this finger thing doesn't happen to you again. Take care. Jeanne in WI Hi All, Had something really weird happen to me last night. I reached out for something and the middle finger on my hand dislocated!! It was very painful and I started yelling. My husband came down and saw it. Grabbed my finger and pulled. It went back in and did not hurt so bad but was still abit painful. I have felt like that some of my joints could dislocate if I put too much presser on them like my elbow, hips or knees but never had them do it. I do have double-jointed shoulders. Have had that all my life. Very Odd. Am I the only 1 this happened to? Thanks for your input. Penny In Central Illinois
