Guest guest
Hi Nina - I just wanted to tell you that I am also a music lover, maybe not quite the junkie that you are, but listening to it usually helps my spirits. I was raised on Barbershop music until I got my first record player and my own albums. God, I sound old. My dad was a director of Barbershop choruses for many years. Now as an almost 83 yr. old, he still directs a chorus of retired men. It is what gives him the will to live. I love lots of different music, too. My hubby and I were both music majors in college, so we can appreciate classical music. I like newer country music, pop songs from the 60's, 70's, and early 80's, and Christian music, both contemporary and gospel. Anyhow, kinda started rambling..... Jeanne in WI The other thing for me that helps is.. Music. I am a music JUNKIE. I was raised in music, my mother is a piano teacher and i grew up with it around, all the time, so its very soothing to me. Different kinds for different days, ive got probably the most random music library on the planet lol. When most ppl are huddled on the couch with a dark quiet house, Im huddled on the couch in a dark houes, with headphones on zoning into my music. Whatever the choice of the day is. so when I dont want to be the adult.. Ive found things that help me funnel that frustration.. and get past it, cause unfortunately, life doesnt sit still for me to have a good day. Wouldnt that be cool, if it did?? Hang on, get back to me tomorrow and see if i feel better, k thanx reality! talk to you tomorrow!!! Lol.

Guest guest
Hehe I went to the symphony for the first time in years last week.. gave me childhood memories. Plus I sat in the chairs going.. Oh hey theres so-and-so , and so-and-so. My violin teacher, my daughters kindermusik teacher, my brothers clarinet teacher. We have been very blessed in our lives with excellent music all around. And it was something i never really thought about until recently, how much i depend on music to cope with things. It is a rare day I dont have music on, of some sort. I really only dislike. even if there are genres i dont like much from there are always a few artists that i like from almost every genre. People look at my music library and get very confused sometimes LOL. Then they look at my playlists, which are sometimes all one type of music and sometimes as random as the library itself just fewer selections, and they just really scratch their head. What spacifically are your majors in, do you mind me asking? I was raised playing piano, and then for about seven years i played violin. Beautiful instruments. Speaking of.. I gotta go put on music! ah! Lol! -Nina > Hi Nina - I just wanted to tell you that I am also a music lover, > maybe not quite the junkie that you are, but listening to it usually > helps my spirits. Guest guest
I know the feeling. I am calmer with my mp3 player. I live with it on. It soothes me. My folks got me into bluegrass..gospel..swing..country..when they got married in 1950 they went to the Grand Ole Opry just to see Hank . I have on my mp3 player..hard rock, bluesy rock, pop, bluegrass, swing, classical, big band, gospel, country, and country rock. I..get away from it all this way. I have also always told folks I wasn't depressed. My caseworker from Dept. of Rehab was here today, and told me about listening to me,reading my poetry and songs, that I was in denial. I was a classic case of clinical depression. ick Mickey Jeanne and Dave djgraves9497@...> wrote: Hi Nina - I just wanted to tell you that I am also a music lover, maybe not quite the junkie that you are, but listening to it usually helps my spirits. Guest guest
Wow folks-I have enjoyed bluegrass and gospel since way back when. Music makes me feel better too. I listen to different music, sometimes country sometimes old time rock and roll, and maybe throw down to some disco..yep--gotta luv the beegees! Lately, for relaxations sake, I have been listening to some native indian music, and tribal stuff. Those flutes..oh man oh man.. Oh..and lots of songs from braveheart, last of mohicans.. Horner is a great composer. Music does raise my spirits..and helps with my depression/anxiety. I sing some too. haha..am positive it hurts others ears, as I cannot carry a tune in a bucket, but..still..I bellow it out. K-enough of me already. Soft Hugs..to ya all.. Guest guest
My late sister and I had probably every record the Bee Gees ever had. I love them! I've also been listening to Celtic music, along with Native American..hey I am Cherokee I should! I write my own lyrics..could write 5-10 songs a month. I just don't write music or play anything but harmonica. I have had one song put to music..it fits my fibro I Miss The Me I Used To Be. the title I sing in my church choir. I was a mid level soprano. Now for some reason,I have become a high level to mid level alto..all because of bronchitis and possibly my pulmonary fibrosis..my pastor thinks it's funny. Guest guest
You write lyrics..what a wonderful talent you have been blessed with, my friend. I would love to read the lyrics to some of your songs. I bet they are good. Your title " I Miss the Me I Used To Be " Could be a Fibro anthem. That title says alot..I can relate! I read on fibrofighters, that they have poetry contests. Maybe you could enter..I don't know, just a thought. The prizes are things to help with FM--from exercise balls, to journals to keep different symptoms in, for you dr. I listen only..in church at the choir, LOL..wouldn't dare get up and sing..but, when the congragration stands up and sings, well..I join in. ~ > Wow folks-I have enjoyed bluegrass and gospel since way back when. > Music makes me feel better too. Guest guest
My former best friend from Highschool was a massive Bee Gees fan, and had them on all the walls and ceiling in his bedroom. In art class I altered the Bee Gees logo to read, " Beer Geers " .
Guest guest
My hubby plays the trumpet. He still regularly plays at church, accompanying on the hymns. He sings, too. I played clarinet in high school and college, but my primary instrument was my voice. My dream was to be a professional singer, but my parents said get an education degree to fall back on. I took piano lessons in high school and had to pass a proficiency level as a music ed. major. I just never had the keyboard skills to be a really good teacher. I taught elementary music for one year, but health problems kinda ruined that year, and then I never got back to it. My hubby was certified to be a band director. He never had any luck getting a full-time teaching position. My voice is totally out of shape as I haven't done any real singing in many years. The church choir wants me badly, but so far I do not have the energy to participate. Jeanne in WI Hehe I went to the symphony for the first time in years last week.. gave me childhood memories. Guest guest
People are always way confused when looking at mine. From Benny Goodman/Glenn to Dean and Sinatra to..Bill Monroe? Even British heavy metal. I am wild I reckon. My pastor thinks its funny cause..I have had bronchitis really bad since mid-March,and I was a mid level Soprano...I have gotten deeper..I am now a high to mid level Alto..go figure..
