Guest guest
The interview was at the Lufkin State School. You probably know where it is. It is on hwy 69 going towards Wells. It is a large campus for the mentally retarded and such. They live there. They have gotten a grant from the government and can hire more nurses and create more nursing positions. It comes with a buttload of benefits and paid off days. However, the job they want me to take will be stressful. I would be in charge of a unit of 4 or 5 buildings on the 2-10pm shift. I would be a " working supervisor " basically and would have to cover others when they call in sick I am sure. Because I am an R.N. it seems people just don't want to give me a job that is uncomplicated. LOL. And the job is salaried. A good salary... but I am quite sure they would want me to earn every penny of it and more. It would be a wonderful job for someone who is not ill. It would be great for someone that can devote more of their time and energy to work. If I was younger and healthy, (and did not have small kids), I would take it in a heartbeat. But knowing the stress levels, I cannot take it. Oh and during the interview they threw in the little fact that I would have to choose two of my off days each month to be available to come in if I am needed. If that is not " taking call " I don't know what is. love and hugs, Debra V. Subject: Re: the interview is a " no go " - to and group To: Fibromyalgia_Support_Group Date: Thursday, May 8, 2008, 5:23 AM Debra, If you don't mind me asking where was your interview? It's hard to do a stressfull job like that when you have fibro, much less 2 kids still at home. I know you made the right decision, so feel good about that.
